FOOD: Mila's Tokwa't Baboy and Special Sizzling Sisig

8:00 AM

It was supper time when we reached Angeles City from Subic. So before everyone in the car started to go hangry, we exited SCTEX and made our way to Mila's.

Mila's Tokwa't Baboy and Special Sizzling Sisig
San Andres St., Brgy. Santo Domingo, Angeles City, Pampanga
Tel. (045) 888-6727

A household name for many Kapampangans, this eatery is popular amongst local tourists for serving arguably the best sisig in the city. The first time I ate there, with my reenactor group, I ordered dinuguan. So this time, I made sure to try their sisig and accompanied by their tokwa't baboy.

FOOD: Both dishes live up to the hype. The sisig didn't disappoint in its yummy porky goodness with the right amount of crunch. It certainly is one of the best sisig I've ever had! On the other hand, the Tokwa't Baboy was just perfection. Not one side of a cube was overcooked! It was crunchy on the outside but soft in the inside. The pork was cooked just right and same goes for the soy sauce dip.

CLEANLINESS: It's clean, just in case you're wondering. The dining area and the comfort rooms were clean. The faucet inside the ladies' CR wasn't functioning though when were there BUT the one in the wash area was working. So just remember to wash after stepping out of the CR.

We were there on a Saturday evening so it was packed! We had to wait for our table to be bussed but they were quick to do it so we're all good.

SERVICE: Quick! We came in at the height of dinner service yet we didn't even wait fifteen minutes before our food arrived. Kudos to the staff!

PRICE: It's very affordable and you'll surely get good value for your money. We only ordered two dishes yet it was more than enough for the four of us. And because the food also tasted yum, it was super sulit!

P.S. Unlike a year ago, the lot across that serves as a parking lot now has a roof!

This Tokwa't Baboy - cubed tofu and pork ears - is just perfect.
Mila's Sizzling Sisig - pork cheek with onions, chili, and chicharon -  lives up to the hype! It was just sooo good!

We were lucky enough to meet Aling Mila herself!

Taken last year when our reenactment group went to Mila's for lunch.  We were in central Luzon for Veterans Bank's Bataan Death March Freedom Trail. That's me in the act of stuffing my face and yes, it was a looong table.
